It’s a busy, hot, exciting Summer at GUST

SUMMER is always a busy time for the team at GUST and whilst schools have closed for the summer, we continue to teach all year round and plan for our busiest time of year – September! With training courses galore, refresher training, centre updates, new ideas & lots of new faces all of which we are looking forward to introducing you to soon, we certainly have plenty to keep us busy!

This month we thought we’d focus on ‘LOVE where you live’.  What is on your doorstep apart from the BEST Swim School in Staffordshire? We thought we’d share few of our ideas of where to take the kids in and around our local area during the holidays.  For a fun packed few hours when the weather isn’t so great, head to Come into Play where the ‘outdoors’ has been created ‘indoors’ with soft play included for the little ones.  For the bigger kids and adults, why not try Flip Out gigantic trampoline park or Clip n Climb, the fun alternative to rock climbing both based on the business park in Stone.  When the weather is at it’s best there is no better place to be than Trentham Gardens.  It has it all from the best top end shopping village and garden centre to it’s own magical lake garden, children’s play areas and food outlets.  If it’s food that appeals to you the most, look no further than the Wayfarer, with its exquisite food and excellent service.

Back to the Swim School, we have so many exciting things happening this Summer, new products are being added to our ever-growing swim shop which now include our very own boldly branded, colourful, new and improved happy nappies, available to pre-order now.  We are now also suppliers of a range of Angelcare baby products and the new Dock & Bay towel range that is currently trending around the world, an idea from an entrepreneur featured on Dragon’s Den.  We are always looking to expand our range of products as well as offering something that little bit different.  If there is anything you’d like to see in our shop – please get in touch and let us know.

Have you seen our GUST swimming recipe? We have created the perfect recipe with the finest ingredients to kickstart your child’s swimming journey with us, take a look at the link below:

If the kids would like to get involved in our summer competition and be in with a chance of winning some great prizes, we are asking children to decorate a stone with a GUST theme ensuring they put the following hash tag on the back #teamguststone Winners will be picked at the end of August and we have some exciting adventures to come in the future so don’t miss out and get decorating today, we look forward to seeing your creations.

We have been fundraising for some time for a Defibrillator to be installed outside the Centre here at GUST.  We are pleased to announce we have already raised 68% of our total.  Our very own Mike the Knight will be running the Robin Hood 100 mile charity run on Sunday 15th September.  If any local businesses would like to sponsor Mike and have your logo printed on his running vest, do get in touch on 01785 817534 or if you wish to make a donation, you can visit our link below:

Last but not least, our next underwater photo shoot is taking place here at the Centre on Tuesday 21st August.  Places are now fully booked. We are looking forward to this wonderful experience with our customers.

We hope you are all enjoying the summer and staying safe in the sun
